Its no secret we are in a climate crisis - a constant through point within my work. So here's a wild idea:

To be honest, I envision a far off future where the water will rise, the flames will engulf, and our once beautiful planet will be destroyed. Scary... know. In this scenario - I imagine much of humanity will also be destroyed and the vision we've all seen in the apocalyptic movies will come to fruition. This is the dust flowing out of the vase on the right side cf the piece - the apocalypse. Although this painting exemplifies a lot of fear & pain: rising see levels on the upper right, a post apocalyptic future and flares on the left, and a mad storm of dust and fire on the bottom.

Within the center, there is my continued portrayal of science, amoeba's and cells - this is also the primary focal point of the painting. It represents artificial intelligence being the one day-continued, main form of "life" or consciousness. I imagine a world where a minority of the human race will continue, the ones who got off of Earth, and we will create a new one. A race that is a hybrid creation between human and artificial intelligence, or un-programmable intelligence.

The next iteration...

With all of this being said, I understand that I don't know the future.. as we all do not. I will continue to do my research, but wouldn't the above make sense?!
I plan to settle into my next chapter and really make efforts to being and living more sustainable. To do the work and pay attention - I'll share that progress. If the above seems hopeless, know I am HOPEFUL. And will continue to work towards a better tomorrow, by not only stoping the continuation of climate change, but also creating solutions to reverse our current situation. Who's to say it's NOT possible? Either way I want to work alongside our communities & cities to prepare for this, while better integrating advancements to better the individuals experience.

A portion of this painting will be donated to Extinction Rebellion. "Life on Earth is in crisis. Our climate is changing faster than scientists predicted and the stakes are high. Biodiversity loss. Crop failure. Social and ecological collapse. Mass extinction. We are running out of time, and our governments have failed to act. Extinction Rebellion was formed to fix this."
